Absolutely correct! I think some posters who are now saying they know
exactly what the proper policy toward Iraq should be could learn a little
humility by rereading some of their old posts about Afghanistan written to
this list just one year ago. If I thought the war with Iraq would go half as
well I'd be a super hawk, but will it? I don't know.

Well said. I can think of one important difference and I know it's not
politically correct to say so and I'm not saying by itself it justifies
going to war but there is no point pretending it doesn't exist, the fact is
Iraq has oil and Afghanistan does not.
