Already disproven, at least the scale. (It's possible
there may be a minor rise in prices over the next
several years. But we're talking, worst case, gas
prices double - after accounting for inflation -
sometime well after 2010.) Google for the proof, or
just search this list's archives.

The oil was coming out regardless. Maybe a bit more
will go through US refineries, and the profits will be
distributed differently, but it would have been in
circulation above the ground.
