Far less messy would be to reverse the order: drop
the head in a bucket of liquid nitrogen, then chop
it off. No surgical instruments or medical skills
necessary: an ordinary hacksaw will do.

It does conjure striking mental images: the head
would boil the nitrogen furiously, not so different
from the way the frost on the french fries boils
wildly upon submerging in the hot oil at McDonalds.

This approach would likely be far cheaper than the
current suspension procedure. All it would require
is two or three husky boys at the bedside of the
recently deceased, prepared to do as might have
happened to you when you were in elementary school
and were seen walking your bike across the street:
they caught you by the ankles and dunked your head
    in the toilet.

Hey, maybe I could find those same guys.
