Its primal. The increased risk is heightening the urge
to spread your genes before your number comes up.

The element of risk again, *further* compounded by the
prospect of a hard chase, and/or the need to escape post-
coitus from an agile assertive mate with multiple desires to
satiate. Some males have lost their heads in brief
encounters but *not* in time for the trait to be selected
against.

Also neck exercises when riding alone will *not* be
misconstrued by companions in the side seat. (Males
do well to remember their necks.) And, if one is *seen* to
be looking around, one *might* have been looking for
one's usual co-travelor, when, as chance would have it,
she saw you looking for her first !
