Astronomers have discovered a planetary system resembling our own solar
system, which could harbour an Earth-like planet. The discovery was made by
a team of astronomers, including two Australians, using the
Anglo-Australian Telescope at Siding Spring, near Coonabarabran in NSW. The
Anglo-Australian Planet Search team, which has been looking for planetary
systems like our own for five years, says that among the 100 found so far,
this is the most similar formation. What they found was a Jupiter-like gas
planet with a Jupiter-like elliptical orbit, with no bigger planets closer
to its star. [etc]
