Your body is constantly turning over all of the proteins inside of it.
Protein turnover actually *slows* with age, allowing greater build-up
of damaged proteins. Animals whose lifespans have been slowed by
various methods have shown a higher rate of protein turnover at old
age than normally aging animals.
So data suggests to me that faster protein turnover is more closely
associated with maintaining health and youth.
