Of course it would. By then we'll also know if CO2 actually has the
impact some claim it does and whether it is actually possible to
seriously alter the climate using this mechanism alone, and whether
there are not some mechanisms in the earth system that naturally
mitigate it (like increasing plant/plankton growth).
Those who claim something needs doing now are the same sort of
individuals who are trapped in modes of linear thinking, incapable of
understanding exponential growth curves. Considering that technology is
growing exponentially, while the impact of increasing CO2 seems to
follow diminishing returns, it becomes increasingly more profitable,
both economically AND ecologically to wait for cheaper solutions.
