As far as I now, no P2P program requires file or printer sharing enabled.
And, as Lee said, they don't need it to work. Many of them have Linux
versions, where the Windows concept of file/printer sharing is unknown,
based on a totally different protocol.
Right now, I have three or four P2P programs (kazaa, many gnutella
clients, eDonkey, etc.), and file/printer sharing is currenty disabled.
All programs work OK.
