    People are probably going to pick up on this as a sign that cloning is
    not safe.

    Dolly was always a pretty strange clone, though. She was born with
    short telomeres. Other cloned animals have normal length or even
    longer-than-normal telomeres. Somehow a normal embryonic process of
    lengthening the telomeres never happened in Dolly.
