Michael,
Many reasons have been thrown out for the difference in tastes but one
seems to stand out. The European pays much more for gas due to the much
higher taxes per gallon or litre that what we have in the states.
The question in my mind is this: why does the European put up with his
or her politician laying so much tax on their gasoline? Transportation is a
necessity and cars the most flexible way of traveling.
