deathless apes

Dehede011@aol.com quoted me [mis]quoting Robert Heinlein:

> `What wrong with you apes? You wanna live
> forever?' SARGE SMITH

> Also attributed to Sergeant Day at Belleau Woods, "Come on you
> bastards, you want to live forever?"

I mistyped the start of that citation. `What's', not `What' of course. But I
probably have the wording slightly wrong anyway; it's the epigraph to
STARSHIP TROOPERS, which I don't have handy (and oddly enough the quote's
not googled). Perhaps `C'mon, you apes!'

> The Spike [...] was readily available on special order.

Good grief, *special* order? The damned thing came out in trade paperback
less than a year ago. Paper publishers and their conglomerate distributors
really are running themselves into a hole in the ground.

Thanks for taking the trouble to order it. :)
