You can have no rulers, or you can have no rules, but not both. I'd
rather have rules than rulers.

Right now we have neither: we have rulers making bad rules for us.

They tried to get rid of the rules in Catalan in the 1930s and in St.
Petersburg during WWI, and the result was that they were left open to
slaughter by their rulers.
