Aye. I'd go so far as to claim that $10 million would be barely enough
to get a viable, profitable space tourism business going, if you had
business people who knew what they were doing* (as opposed to, say, your
typical dotcom manager): almost all the money would be needed just to
develop the rocket and get it through the licensing process.

* Having met Doug and others in XCOR personally, I can vouch that their
management currently appears more than competent enough.

If you're closer to San Jose than Los Angeles, another organization you
might try is ERPS (http://www.erps.org/). For those of you in Texas,
Armadillo Aerospace (http://www.armadilloaerospace.com/) has also been
making good progress. I've heard of others, but there are those who
fly and those who just talk - and all three of the ones I've mentioned
have now flown (I've seen them myself, albeit only on video for two of
them).
