What do you think of Jacqueline De Romilly and Jean-Pierre Vernant ?

It was my understanding (a french person told me :-) ) that these
two scholars were significantly contributing to the classical Greek
knowledge in France, and they were influencing (teaching?? showing??)
French politicians on the value of the Greek polis ... ?

After I heard this, I began to imagine that there might be fresh ideological
changes in Europe in the near future coming from the French side.
