NodeNet: how not to scare away experts

Many experts in the areas that interest us have not yet heard of
transhumanism or Extropianism. They might be wary of associating with
anything they consider to be on the fringe. Some of them will disagree on
core issues with us.
I don't think this should disqualify them from being posting
members on our nodes. For example, a scientist who has invented a
neuron-computer interface has something interesting to say to us, even if
she doesn't believe uploading is possible/desirable. We should be
open-minded and respect their contribution rather than attempt to
indoctrinate them. If they are sympathetic to our ideas, they will absorb
these ideas through osmosis, without any direct effort on our part.
I hope the nodes become respected fora in their fields (with a
strong but intangible Extropian slant) rather than outlets for raw
propoganda.
