Was that really what the reaction was about? I honestly don't
see any queer-bashing at all in my comment. The word "tree-hugger"
is a bit derogatory, but "lesbian" is plain English, and I did
not imply that the set of adjectives I used go together as a
generalization or anything, they just happened to be the opposites
of the ones Mike used ("hot intelligent hetero GOPers").
Yes, it would have been out of line if I had implied that lesbians
were ugly and dumb or something (but I know better--I've had two
wonderfully bright and beautiful bi girlfriends, and I haven't
been 100% straight all my life either).
