Real Audio streams apparently do not cache onto your hard disk as mp3's and
windows media files do. The audio stream relies upon continuous feedback
signals from the user's computer which makes capturing these files a bit
convoluted. You need to download an audio recorder such as total recorder
http://highcriteria.com/ which can then be run simultaneously during
playback to capture and record the stream in real time as a mp3 or wav.
Note that the (free) shareware version of total recorder is fully
functional, but records only 40 seconds of audio. To record longer streams
you have to pay the $11.95 license fee. I have not spent enough time
googling on this to determine if other (totally free) recorders are
available. Hope this helps.
Incidentally, I had been planning to stay up all night to try to become one
of those 'initial thousand' PAM traders. Bureaucracy sux.
Best wishes,
Russell Evermore
