What is so funny about this article, as well as that on the US News
that labelled Robin "economist for Starfleet", is that, while the
writers are trying to be mocking and dismissive, there is a significant
percent of the population that sees a sort of credibility in such
labels. Among the trekkie generation, if the major media labels you
"Chief Economist of Starfleet Command", you are going to be listened to
more closely by anyone with a future-oriented mindset.
I predict that the Pentagon, after all of this blows over, will quietly
hire Robin for a lot more work... there is no such thing as bad publicity...
