    In the gut of the executive group, survival is
    paramount, and profitability only a hairbreadth
    behind.
    It is not so much that they "want" to pollute--I would
    say they most certainly and scrupulously "want" to not
    pollute--but the bedrock principle of survival forces
    them to "do what a man's gotta do".

    Choice and "want" are luxuries in the jungle.
    Survival is all.

    Regarding self-deception, I would ask, "Where is the
    jungle, really? Out there, or in here (taps self
    mid-chest, slightly left of center)?"
