Pedophile priests are to be fought tooth and nail, in my opinion. Any
religious institution that panders or protects will surely suffer a loss of members.
You ain't get me to condone them.

Its not supposed to click with reality, its a means to pyschologically deal
with unmet needs and personal frustration. When pharacology and technical
progress overtake the problems of people's lives, then we shall see what remains.
Until then we have the human condition to deal with.

How do you know that religion has held back technical progress? This is a
weak hypothesis at best. Are you refering to the Scopes trial, or what? Giordano
Bruno's life was ended by one brutal Church, but his ideas flourished in
Northern Europe.
Science, especially if it produces useful things will always triumph.
Otherwise, people will do without useful toys, and even dictatorships cannot resist.
