...regarding the potential for
a near term peaking of oil production...
http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/061203_simmons.html
Now what is interesting about this is that if Simmons is
correct the world may hit the energy supply wall hard in
the not-so-distant future... Robert
Robert, next time you are in town, you and I must go on a little drive
down thru the central valley of taxifornia, down interstate 5. I want
to show you a potential enormous energy generation site, a long straight
road where one can drive for several hours at superlegal speeds, and see
nooooothing on either side of the road for as far as the eye can see
(which is far) The wind blows like hell thru there 24-7, and the sun
shines brightly all year around. Another site like this is Gina
Miller's old stomping grounds, up along 395 in northern taxifornia, vast
empty windy country, just begging to be planted in clean beautiful
profitable windfarms.
A few windmills are going up along 5 now (low interest rates making them
attractive investments) but progress is being strangled by low oil
prices.
This world cannot make any real progress in energy production until we
burn up most of the reserves. Cheapy oil is holding back progress.
Eventually we will turn the corner. The glass is half full and filling
steadily.
