Eliezer is right. Having once spent many years in the RAM management
business, I can testify without hesitation that multi-meg-millionaires are
as a group no more happy than the rest of us. Some of the richest people I
know are also the most miserable.
I notice that the misery level is greatest when very large sums are
inherited. These poor saps are robbed even of the satisfaction that comes
from patting oneself on the back for past achievements. They tend to have
low motivation, low self-esteem, and a tendency to abuse drugs and alcohol.
Money is not all it's cracked up to be.
So do yourself a favor and send me yours. :)
