Interesting report, thanks! I would probably like to see more safety
studies before using it full time myself. (The waking hallucinations could
be dangerous, and are a common symptom of sleep deprivation.) However, I
have been known to get double and tripled booked in my consulting business.
I once got triple-booked for IBM clients and worked/billed 100 hours/week
for six weeks. I got a huge bonus, but am not sure it was worth it. There
were definite negative health effects, and I had to take a week off to
recover afterwards. It sounds like this drug might make such emergencies
more manageable.
One last question, did you start sleeping more hours than normal when you
came off the drug? After a normal period of sleep deprivation, the body
requires more sleep for a few nights to recover. I am wondering if there
was any recovery period here, or if you just went back to a normal sleeping
pattern.
I seem to require 9 hours of sleep per night. I can function on 7-8 with no
noticeable effects until Saturday, where in the absence of an alarm clock, I
sleep until noon, apparently recovering my lost hours of sleep. If I get
8-9 hours of sleep per night during the week, I wake up on schedule on
Saturday with no alarm clock, even if I was up late the night before.
