LOTF is very extropic, g. It demonstrates how superstition
and human nature are a bad combination, but reason and
logic are powerful tools if allowed to lead people's lives.
Golding's genius in this novel is in character development.
It has been 26 years since I read LOTF in a single sitting,
haven't seen the movies, but after all these years I still
have vivid memories of the characters: Ralph, Piggy, Sam'nEric,
Jack, and my personal favorite Simon. Golding was brilliant
in that one, better than Steinbeck. spike
