Interesting interview. Aside from his general answers, Crichton scored some
big points with me at the end of the interview:

"What are some of your favorite novels?"

"Lord of the Flies by William Golding is the novel I most admire of any I've
    read.."

Wow. _Lord of the Flies_ is perhaps my favorite fiction book of all time.
    It's not especially
extropic, but that tiny novel reveals more about human nature than any I've
ever read. In my opinion it ranks right up there with _Animal Farm_ by
George Orwell. In the course of my life I've read _Lord of the Flies_ not
    once, not twice, but thrice.

And it's small enough to read during any round-trip domestic airplane flight
(my main reason for reading it for yet a third time).
