Just what we need to do, *smoke* more....
I might remind the list that thinness is no real reflector of
longevity. In fact, the mortality stats say that being slightly heavy
is the best course for the most people, though not necessarily for
everybody.
French go for cheeses, wines, and saucy servings. Nor are all grains
equal. Americans use far more corn than anybody else, and I think that
since it is the most newly domesticated grain, my uninformed opinion is
that we are not so well evolved to digest it efficiently. The American
problem is two-fold: one of gluttonously large servings of everything,
and two of a far more sedentary lifestyle.
