True. Actually I was half-joking... I can't imagine myself eating brains...
but since you took me seriously I wonder if it would be safe to eat lamb or
pork brains. According to the USDA Nutrient Database, a 100 mg serving of
cooked pork brain has 14 mg of vitamin C. A 100 mg serving of cooked lamb
brain has 12 mg of vitamin C. Both also contain essential omega-3 fatty
acids so important to human brain function. Brains also contain plenty of
protein, B vitamins and vitamin E.
I suppose one could, for example, grind it and mix it with meat loaf. Then
again perhaps the hurdle is only psychological. Animal brains might have a
nice flavor. Most fatty foods do.
