The intention is to leave it all to the Iraqi people, but this does not mean
there will not be economic benefits to the western world.
You will benefit from it, hubert, even if Germany never buys a single drop
of Iraqi oil. Our respective economies (Germany and the USA) are linked
together very intimately.
I too am uncomfortable about trading "blood for oil," but there is really
nothing that can be done about that now. This war is a fait acompli.
Here in the US we have a saying (maybe you have the same saying).
"No sense crying over spilt milk."
