I have exerienced all five kinds of so called ad hominem attacks here on
this list and I found that they triggered my "instinct of survival" and
sharpened my intellectuals tools more than any laboriously suppressed
aggression on the side of the writer.
Only because ad hominem seem unlogical errors to the rational mind does not
mean they cannot have the power to activate some solution in your own mind
or lead you to an insight that helps you beat the attacker with his own
weapons...
