    If your only calculus is in how much your vehicle costs versus the
    *most expensive* possible weapon used against it, you'd have a point.
    However, the cost of adding precision GPS guidance to dumb munitions is
    dropping all the time. Furthermore, you need to calculate the value of
    your troops, what you spent to train them to the point where they are
    decent cannon-fodder.

    However, this is all ignoring the fact that you are protecting real
    assets with that pickup truck or T-72 tank. You are protecting your
    land, your ownership and control of it.
