Ja, it says less than I remembered. It has been
over a decade since I was in the plowshares group,
when I was reading all this stuff. The part of
the invention that the Americans took from the
Nazis was the use of a steam blast to clear the
tube ahead of the missile. In the current system,
steam is also used to propel the missile out of
the tube, where it breaches the surface before
the solid motor fires.
