    I'd ask around on the Mozilla lists. Any such program is likely to
    be something like a plug-in for Mozilla (and theoretically for other
    Gecko-based brosers like Galeon, Phoenix). Personally I've never
    seen the need for such a thing, so I can't offer any specific
    recommendations.

    I had no trouble downloading Acrobat reader 5.0.6 for Linux from
    Adobe's site, unpacking it, and running its install script.
    Fileroller is newfangled Gnome gadget that nobody knows or cares
    about, so don't bother with it. And if you're running Gnome, then
    you should already have ggv, which is quite capable of reading PDFs.
