It is often the case in history that the enemy of my enemy
becomes my friend. You have also perhaps heard "politics
makes strange bedfellows". I don't think that any of this
can be reduced to the application of elementary syllogisms.

It's not so laughable to compare Coalition troops ability to
defend themselves from weapons of mass terror to the ability
of an unsuspecting metropolitan area. Sounds like apples
and oranges to me.
Furthermore, a key attribute of any stockpile is its size.
Eliminating a dangerous tyrant who has always shown a strong
interest in acquiring weapons of mass destruction in only
prudent.
Saddam's unknown capacity to defend himself /in terms of
attacking foreign cities/ will only grow over time, if
that's what you are referring to.
