I love the idea, and I have actually been pushing a lot of people I know
towards boycotts of French and German products, but for the past couple of
days I have considered that the other thing that people of like minds should
be doing is trying to support Britain more for their (or at least their
governments) outstanding friendship during this time. I am making an effort
to buy more English products when possible, but I think while we are doing
anti-France demonstrations, we should be sending letters of thanks to the
British embassy as well.
On another note, one other little bit of Chirac's behavior that I found
revealing was when he made some statement to the effect that the support of
the US / British position from many eastern European countries could
endanger their entrance into the EU. Isn't that pleasant behavior. I
increasingly wonder if Chirac thinks that he is going to make the EU into a
new Napoleonic empire.
