I don't use any filters, anymore.
I once filtered out a few annoying folks like Joe Dees who were permanently
useless. They are generally gone, while others have become more positive
contributors to the list. I even find that Samantha has useful things to say
on occasion. ;D
As for topic filters, so what? I think that it is very cowardly to use them,
a form of "don't confuse me with the facts". Of couse, many people on the
list are just very busy people and can't be bothered with so much traffic,
but it's much like people who never read the daily newspaper or dialy tv news
yet consider themselves well informed citizens capable of making considered
decisions at the voting booth. If you don't MAKE the time, you can't blame
others for your bad decisions (of course, if you remain ignorant, you can
continue to claim otherwise blissfully).
