    Waldek,
I have often wondered what would happen if the US took south & Central
America, some of the nations of the Pacific Rim, and selected European
nations to form a trading partnership. Africa? I am willing to listen but
personally I haven't thought that one through.

BTW, what happens if the US conquers Iraq -- Leaves the replacement
Iraqi government to use the Iraqi oil reserves to rebuild the Iraqi
    infrastructure and nation.
If this happens should we apply persuasion to get the new Iraqi
government to continue selling to France and Germany? After all there may be
some resentment on the part of the new Iraqi government over France and
    Germany supporting Sadaam.
Should the US shift some of its oil purchases to Iraq to help them get
    money for reconstruction?
           What do you think Waldek?
