### If people really need trains and buses, they
> don't need to be subsidized. Rafal
Truer words are seldom spoken. Often the traffic
is clogged by subsidized city buses with one or
two passengers aboard. I notice this while I
am stopped waiting for a train that passes by
with one or two, and sometimes no passengers aboard.
Universal truth: as long as there are parking
spaces, people will drive their cars. If the
goal is to force mass transit, the solution is
very simple: build highrises on all existing
parking spaces.
Of course, forcing mass transit is not the
*goal*, moving people to their destination is
the goal. But politicians often lose sight
of this fact.
