    Bill,
As a former driver of a VW Rabbit (diesel) I think you missed a very
    important one.
My VW would not hold minimum speed in our hilly areas. Many of our
high ways have posted minimum speed and my car would not maintain that speed.
I have been in 60 MPH traffic while unable to hold even 30 mph.
I have rented other small cars that would hold the minimum speed but
which would start overheating on the hills.
After becoming used to a small car I started noticing that when I
encountered a traffic backup there was usually a small car leading the pack.
In really slick conditions my car was better than the cars around me
in holding the road. I developed a strong desire to stay away from other
traffic as I knew who would lose any "crushing contest" due to someone else
losing control. On occasion this was very difficult to arrange.
