    If it's embedded in glass an earthquake might break the rods in half but
    it's solid glass so worse case the Earthquake make break the rods into 3
    or 4 pieces. The radioaction material will still be
    embedded in the glass and geologically inert.

    Then if you take it into the large salt mine repository the government
    has spent millions to build in a geologically stable area. The salt
    mine itself acts as another inert barrier.

    Other countries should be required by national treaties to agree to
    nuclear waste disposal standards set by the UN before any other country
    is allowed to export them nuclear materials or technology.
