i.e. europeans are cynical opportunists who would sell their grandma
for a eurobuck. Really social, that. I suppose that is why they are
putting their self interest (i.e. selling weapons and investing in
Iraqi oil companies) ahead of world peace.

On the contrary, it can be shown that those EU countries which brag a
slightly higher standard of living than the US are uniformly those
which are dependent upon financing their welfare systems with heavy
resource exporting (i.e. north sea oil, money laundering, etc), while
at the same time spending far less on defense than the US does.

What is so interesting is that it is those eastern european nations
which seem to be generally in support of the US stance on Iraq. Poland
and the Czech Republic, specifically, seem highly supportive. Perhaps
it is because they have a far better idea than western europeans do
what it is like living under repressive regiemes.

i.e. trading with the enemy
