Those such as us, on top of rocks such as this, live in special conditions.

Alfven is very respected (and revered) in the plasma and astrophysics
(magnetohydrodynamics) fields. For example, the concept of
frozen-in-flux and flux tubes, are his ideas. You'll find Alfven waves
in every standard text book on plasma physics, and anyone studying
plasma physics today stands on his giant shoulders.
