Depends on your perspective. A *lot* of people who are still not so
wealthy that they demand equal wages with the richest countries but with
enough money tobuy our stuff is going to have a huge economic impact.
Just look at what is happening in the Indian economy right now,
especially with respect to programming. Ten years might be a bit short
time, but when/if China becomes a major market it is going to shift the
economic landscape a lot. Which can be viewed as disastrous by some and
grandiose by others.
Of course, much depends on the political changes in China. Will it hold
together as an authoritarian state based on confucian "capitalism", will
the contradictions make it break up, the conservative powers halt the
growth or will it democratize? The ball is in the air.
