Sorry Damien, but you did not just cite that statement you copied it and
included it in your email. You preceded the citation by pointing it out as
"interesting." You didn't describe the citation as lamentably in error, nor
did you say it was misleading, you said "interesting." Then immediately
after the citation you remarked, "States do this kind of thing." You further
added, "Dictatorships often do it to their own people
as well as to foreigners." I point out your use of the word "often" implies
either that we are a dictatorship or that we don't do it often -- but we do
it. That is the implication that your construction of your email gave your
message.
Any reasonable person might assume that you agreed with that statement
in light of your not disassociating yourself from the statement in anyway. I
suggest you stop using absurdly childish debating tactics, Dr. In fact, I
think you owe me and the list an apology.
