I'm not talking about sexism here. I'm talking about the
constructed gender differences that we are trained in since infancy.
To overcome those takes self-examination and vigilance. I ask myself
an entire complex of questions regarding gender, race, and class when I
find myself in a problematic situation. This is part of my ethical
commitment not to treat persons differently based on physical
characteristics.
