> Am I an upload, living in a virtual world?
Would an answer really help? And can we ever be sure about it?
I prefer to avoid ontological questions, but recently I have felt some
attraction to Moravec's "Platonic Materialism": information exists, and
two worlds which are indistinguishable are identical. Simulations just
opens windows to other worlds, and when they end they close. We could in a
way be *both* living in real life and in the great
"history-of-the-universe-passes-before-your-eyes" finale of the Omega
Point.
