The exceptional nature of WIRED issue 6.01 has been pointed out
already, I just wanted to point directly to one article of interest
to the list. "Technocracy R.I.P" by Virginia Postrel, who is editor
of REASON magazine (www.reason.com)

Heres a quote:

"Dynamists understand the limits of their own knowledge - and of
everyone else's. They see markets not as conspiracies, but as
discovery processes, coordinating dispersed knowledge. And they
worry about the way technocrats blithely trample individual efforts
and overide local knowledge."

and this one:

"Dynamists on the other hand barely know their "coalition" exists.
They share beliefs in spontaneous order, in evolved solutions, in
the limits of centralized knowledge, in the possibility of
progress."

I was impressed enough to drop her an E-mail, and give myself a
subscription as a gift.

subscription is the sincerest form of flattery.
