Sounds a bit like a technocratic view of transhumanism - someone/some
institution is needed to guide all human development in a safe and
rational direction. Individual, wild trial and error simply cannot be
allowed when dealing with human destiny. I think that is a very
wrongheaded view, but it is surprisingly common, even among
transhumanists.
