The minor planet 2000 WR106, roughly 350-750 miles in diameter, has been
found orbiting beyond Pluto (approximately 43 AU out), and is the
largest minor planet found to date, somewhere between Ceres and Pluto in
size. Robert MacMillan of the U of Arizona discovered it at Kitt Peak on
November 28th, and confirmed its discovery with 12 supporting sightings.
There have been 346 trans-neptunian minor planets discovered since 1992.
