Oh? What about Morganatic marriages and corporate mergers?

I could see fidelity and polyfidelity extending as far foreseeable as
marriages in the US today, and perhaps farther. Gentleman adventurer
contracts, clans, line marriages, you name it.

I don't expect *divorce* will go out of style.

As the Chinese historians said when asked what they thought of the
American War of Independence: Too soon to tell.
