We got to the dance despite having our legs cut out from under us, our homes seized, our
ability to protect ourselves stripped and our wealth largely stolen. We got to the dance
not because of but in spite of many of the efforts of government. Government has become
a major oppressor in this country as it historically has in ev every country where its
power went effectively unchecked for too long.
As Will Rogers once said in an era of much smaller government, "Thank God we don't get
all the government we have paid for!"
